Certain Affinity reveals they're working with 343 Industries on Halo Infinite's Development

Austin based studio, Certain Affinity, announced today that they have been working with 343 Industries on the upcoming Halo Infinite. Certain Affinity reveals the partnership started back in December of 2019 and as of this morning can finally reveal they are working with the team at 343 on Halo Infinite's development.

Certain Affinity is best known for their works on creating multiplayer environments such as maps or modes in various games. Certain Affinity has worked with Microsoft on numerous Halo projects spanning the past 11 years, including Halo 2, Halo Waypoint, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo: Reach, Halo 4, and Halo: The Master Chief Collections.

Certain Affinity is responsible for creating and recreating various fan favorites maps across on the Halo projects they've had their hands in. Creating 2 maps for Halo 2, 7 maps for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, 3 maps for Halo: Reach, and 18 maps for Halo 4. Additionally, Certain Affinity was responsible for a few key aspects in Forge across Halo: Reach and Halo 4, and even created the Dominion game mode in Halo 4. With The Master Chief Collection, Certain Affinity was responsible for updating Halo 2, allowing it to work within the Halo 4 engine and updating the game's core systems from weapons, vehicles, characters, animations, game modes, and achievements to work on the new systems developed by 343 Industries. With Master Chief Collection, Certain Affinity also revamped some forge mode components and remade 6 multiplayer maps using new assets created for Halo 2.

Certain Affinity also has development history with the Call of Duty franchise, working on games such as World at War, Black Ops, Ghosts, Modern Warfare Remastered, and Modern Warfare 2 Remastered. Certain Affinity's work here resembles their work with the Halo franchise in that the studio was tasked on creating multiplayer maps to be featured in the game's multiplayer suite. Doing 4 maps and balancing tweaks in World at War, 8 maps for Black Ops, map development and design support for Ghosts, and remastered nearly every map in both Modern Warfare remakes.

With confirmation that Certain Affinity will be working with 343 Industries, most likely on map development for Halo Infinite, players can expect to see the same love and care put into the maps and design as we've seen in past Halo games. While the extent of which the development partnership goes too hasn't been confirmed, we do know the partnership began in December of 2019. With Halo Infinite's multiplayer component being Free-to-Play, more players will be able to experience the maps created by both 343 Industries and Certain Affinity.
